Grogne au Memphrémagog concernant une nouvelle tarification du lavage des bateaux

« Un nouveau règlement sur le lavage des embarcations au lac Memphrémagog pourrait être contesté devant la justice », rapportait Dany Jacques du Reflet du Lac le 30 mars. C’est du moins ce que veut le propriétaire de la Marina Fitch Bay, Stéphane Pouliot.

« Ce dernier déplore l’adoption du Règlement relatif au contrôle du lavage des embarcations sur le lac Memphrémagog et le lac Lovering, lundi prochain (NDLR le 3 avril) par le conseil municipal du Canton de Stanstead. «Je songe sérieusement à une contestation juridique ainsi qu’à une vaste mobilisation de toutes les marinas du lac Memphrémagog, prévient-il. Je veux rallier beaucoup de gens, car la MRC tente d’uniformiser les tarifs dans chacune des six municipalités riveraines.»

« M. Pouliot peste surtout contre le certificat de lavage saisonnier de 250 $ imposé à chacun des locataires non-résidents de marina au Canton de Stanstead. «Je crains que cette tarification fasse boule de neige et affecte notre industrie touristique, tout en freinant, une fois de plus, l’accès à un plan d’eau public, s’indigne-t-il. On n’a pas un bel été en vue.»

Neptunus 650F Review

Over the years Canadian Yachting has had the pleasure of doing several boat review articles on new Neptunus models and we are familiar with the qualities that Neptunus is famous for. They have all been exceptional yachts, but this is the one I would most want to own myself. It’s a personal choice and a matter of taste as to whether you would prefer to have a sedan express model or a flybridge but in my opinion, the flybridge layout offers some wonderful attributes.

We met with Neptunus Managing Director Jan Willem De Jong this past fall to take the new Neptunus 650F out in Lake Ontario.

The Other Virgin Islands

I was first seduced by the United States Virgin Islands during a ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola to begin one of our earliest British Virgin Islands charters nearly twenty years ago.

Clearing Pillsbury Sound, surrounded by voluptuous emerald mountains as the ferry sliced through royal blue waters, I was struck by the unspoiled ambiance of St. John, the island gliding past our starboard beam and the irresistible charm of a village called Cruz Bay visible from our quarter stern.
