The June issue of Canadian Yachting is the kickoff to the summer boating season and is bound to get you inspired!

This issue highlights two summer fun feature articles including a great lifestyle piece on all things fishing from Steven Bull, host of Water Ways TV. Expect tips and tricks for beginners, advice from fishing experts and some great images from across the country.

Amy Hogue has put together a guide to waterside patios along the Rideau Canal so you can plan your summer adventures around good food, views and ever-important canal side refreshments on those hot summer days.

The June issue features a power review of the Saxdor 200 by Andy Adams and a sail review of the Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 60 by Zuzana Prochazka. Andy Adams also writes about a new pontoon boat hydrofoiling concept, Hydrofin, that’s creating a better all-around boating experience.

Following her re-powering story in our May issue, Jennifer M. Smith is back with a re-painting story of their classic cruising sailboat. This time Green Ghost goes white!
There’s a special Georgian Bay feature on anchorages and service centres from Maple Leaf Marinas as well as John Morris’ Crossing the Line.

Once again, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons contribute their featured supplement The Port Hole. Speaking of CPS, they have just launched a new www.BoatLicenseCanada.ca website that features a user-friendly online course to help boaters get their boating license.

Our June magazine is the perfect issue to take with you out on the boat this summer. We hope this sparks some joy and excitement as we head out onto the water for another season of amazing boating adventures. Enjoy!

By Andy Adams

Over the years Canadian Yachting has had the pleasure of doing several boat review articles on new Neptunus models and we are familiar with the qualities that Neptunus is famous for. They have all been exceptional yachts, but this is the one I would most want to own myself. It’s a personal choice and a matter of taste as to whether you would prefer to have a sedan express model or a flybridge but in my opinion, the flybridge layout offers some wonderful attributes.

We met with Neptunus Managing Director Jan Willem De Jong this past fall to take the new Neptunus 650F out in Lake Ontario.

The Other Virgin Islands

Sunset off St John

By Mark Stevens

I was first seduced by the United States Virgin Islands during a ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola to begin one of our earliest British Virgin Islands charters nearly twenty years ago.

A perfect sunset off St. John with St. Thomas views for backdrop.

Clearing Pillsbury Sound, surrounded by voluptuous emerald mountains as the ferry sliced through royal blue waters, I was struck by the unspoiled ambiance of St. John, the island gliding past our starboard beam and the irresistible charm of a village called Cruz Bay visible from our quarter stern.
