Cruising World Names Leopard 48’ Best Catamaran

Leopard 48

Sidney’s Coastline Marine Yacht Sales, Canada’s only Leopard Catamaran dealer, announces that Cruising World Magazine has rated the Leopard 48’ sailing catamaran, their #1 Best Catamaran EVER. Leopard catamarans are built in South Africa, by long time catamaran builders, Robertson & Caine.

The award coincides with the arrival of the first privately owned Leopard 48, Ops Mobil, in BC waters. The new Leopard 48 will be available for viewing on Coastline’s docks in Port Sidney through January, and will be available in 2015 for charter through Coastline’s parent company Island Cruising Sailing School & Yacht Charters. Two other Leopard catamarans also made the top 40 in Cruising World’s ratings.

We met with Neptunus Managing Director Jan Willem De Jong this past fall to take the new Neptunus 650F out in Lake Ontario.

A perfect sunset off St. John with St. Thomas views for backdrop.

Clearing Pillsbury Sound, surrounded by voluptuous emerald mountains as the ferry sliced through royal blue waters, I was struck by the unspoiled ambiance of St. John, the island gliding past our starboard beam and the irresistible charm of a village called Cruz Bay visible from our quarter stern.
