Carver Yachts to debut new C43 Coupe at Miami International Boat Show

Carver Miami

For more than 60 years, Carver has been building boats that are designed from the inside out to be exceptionally seaworthy. Boats that offer real comfort on the water, as well as at the dock. And the new C43 Coupe, which will be unveiled at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show, is no exception to this rule.

Following Carver Yachts’ distinctive design philosophy, the new C43 offers clean, contemporary lines and a distinctive hull shape. Step inside this masterfully designed two-stateroom yacht, and you’ll immediately notice the best-in-class headroom. What’s more, Carver Yachts designers have gone to great lengths to ensure that 360-degree views from the salon’s large opening windows won’t compromise the yacht’s abundant seating and storage. And that means more comfort for owners, family members, and guests.

Owners will also enjoy the broad, single-level salon that becomes part of a seamless indoor-outdoor living space when the sliding glass door to the roomy cockpit is open. They’ll also appreciate the large, comfortable berths, the well-appointed aft galley, the private owners’ head with stall shower, and the separate head for day use and overnight guests. And for those perfect summer days, they’ll love the large swim platform, electric glass sunroof, and available sunpad, retractable sun shade, and wet bar for the cockpit.

The C43 is more than her accommodations. On the water, experienced boaters will understand the importance of her raised sheer, single-level walk-around decks with integrated railings, and the interior helm station, which allows the captain to drive while seated, standing, or leaning on a flip-up bolster.

Created by designers and engineers who know what it’s like to boat in harsh conditions, the new C43 can easily take a pounding without sacrificing a soft, smooth ride, and get out and back again in unbelievable comfort. Everything in the new C43, down to the last detail, has been carefully planned to provide the best possible boating experience.

Neptunus 650F Review

Neptunus 650F 400

By Andy Adams

Over the years Canadian Yachting has had the pleasure of doing several boat review articles on new Neptunus models and we are familiar with the qualities that Neptunus is famous for. They have all been exceptional yachts, but this is the one I would most want to own myself. It’s a personal choice and a matter of taste as to whether you would prefer to have a sedan express model or a flybridge but in my opinion, the flybridge layout offers some wonderful attributes.

We met with Neptunus Managing Director Jan Willem De Jong this past fall to take the new Neptunus 650F out in Lake Ontario.

The Other Virgin Islands

Sunset off St John

By Mark Stevens

I was first seduced by the United States Virgin Islands during a ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola to begin one of our earliest British Virgin Islands charters nearly twenty years ago.

A perfect sunset off St. John with St. Thomas views for backdrop.

Clearing Pillsbury Sound, surrounded by voluptuous emerald mountains as the ferry sliced through royal blue waters, I was struck by the unspoiled ambiance of St. John, the island gliding past our starboard beam and the irresistible charm of a village called Cruz Bay visible from our quarter stern.
