2022 National AGM and Conference – Toronto

AGM 2022

Apr 20, 2022

After a long wait, we are looking forward to seeing our members in person, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Mark your Calendars for October 24th/29th, and register early to join us as ”Toronto Welcomes the World”. That is our Theme, which truly describes the vibrancy and excitement that can be found in the various neighbourhoods celebrating the many and varied cultures that are at home here. Within walking distance of the Hotel, are world class museums, galleries, shopping districts, and much more. Situated on the banks of Lake Ontario also provides opportunities to explore the many lakefront areas open to the public.

We are researching venues of particular interest to you, our members, which will be shared in the coming months. As you know, the advent of the pandemic has made it difficult to get forward commitments from tour operators but these are becoming more available to us and we are working to provide some great alternatives for you to enjoy. We believe that a City Pass will be available at $95, which gives access to 6 places of interest, including the CN Tower, Science Centre, and Casa Loma. This pass must be used within 9 days of initiation. So – stay tuned for complete details.

You can expect to see an Agenda which includes meetings and presentations from our various National Departments, as well as interesting seminars, and of course our Annual General Meeting, to which all members are invited.

In line with our Theme, the Friday evening of the Conference will celebrate the food and entertainment from different parts of the World. Start thinking about the costume you will wear, which illustrates your own family background, or one which you admire! Some fun competitions are in the works, not only for the best costume, but in other areas which may surprise you! Come prepared for an evening to relax and enjoy after the serious business of meetings held most of the week are over.

Our hosts are the members of York West, York East and Quinte Districts – all of whom look forward to welcoming you to join us Don’t forget – mark your calendars now!

Save your seat today and register here.

We met with Neptunus Managing Director Jan Willem De Jong this past fall to take the new Neptunus 650F out in Lake Ontario.

Sunset off St John

By Mark Stevens
