Boom and Batten Restaurant
Boom & Batten Restaurant is suspended over the water adjacent to the Songhees Walkway and anchors the Victoria International Marina. The marina is home port to super yachts up to 165ft. The building’s exterior architecture looks with the crest of a wave.
Once inside you are surrounded with windows that provided with one of the best views of Victoria’s Inner Harbour.
Executive chef Sam Harris and his team celebrate sustainable sources grounded in Pacific Northwest culture searching out seafood to fresh vegetables and meats from local producers. Sam is no stranger to launches; he was at the helm of both the award-winning Agrius and The Courtenay Room.

Sam’s focus is on local fare that reflects not only the sea but also the wealth of flavours that we enjoy on the island.
Sam’s first job while still attending culinary school in Ottawa was under John Taylor at Dolmus Café in Ottawa. Taylor was doing regional, seasonal, organic, farm table cuisine long before it was fashionable. It was where Sam really learned how to shop and how to use a knife. It was there that Sam learned about setting up a network of local suppliers that would deliver things directly to the restaurant. Sam brought the same skills and experiences to Boom & Batten.
