The Maritime Museum of BC has received $190,884 from the Government of Canada’s Museums Assistance Program, Access to Heritage to help support the production of the SS Princess Sophia Exhibition, a travelling exhibit that will launch in Victoria, BC at the Maritime Museum of BC in January 2018.

Each year, staff from the Ministry of Natural Resources stock Lake Simcoe with 150,000 whitefish and 100,000 trout, along with the smallmouth bass, yellow perch, largemouth bass, northern pike, black crappie, walleye, brown bullhead, bowfin, carp, rock bass, white suckers and rainbow smelt that populate its waters.
