Sharon GreenThe 2019 Ultimate Sailing Calendar highlights the drama and excitement of blue-water sailing, as Hamilton hometown photo shooter Sharon Green focuses her camera lens on the wild world of offshore yacht racing! Green is currently in Kingston for the induction of her dad, Hamilton Canada’s Cup winner Don Green, into the Canadian Sailing Hall of Fame.

“The strength and fury of the sea are palpable in these incredible images. So is the strength and determination of the sailors onboard, as they harness the power of the wind, with electrifying results!” says Green. Photographer, curator, entrepreneur – Green has been capturing the leading regattas and boats around the globe for nearly 40 years.

“Many of us spend hours stuck behind computer screens, in offices or other stifling settings, and dream of our time on the water; braving the elements and challenging ourselves when the weekend, or vacation time, comes. It’s what we live for!”

2019 CalendarIn the 37th edition of the celebrated Ultimate Sailing Calendar, the Tasman Sea consumes bundled-up racers in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Race. The blue Pacific indulges Merlin’s Transpac return, while closer to home a Pac52 vanishes into an explosion of foam in California’s ‘windy lane.’ J/70s battle through a jagged mountain range of waves, as a wall of green looms angrily over a Laser.
