Pooches Onboard

Last time we published a picture of a cute doggie in a life jacket (my pup btw) and we received a couple of great boating canine pics in return.

Boat and Trip Already an enthusiastic photo contributor (thanks!) Mike Johnson of the Oakville Power and Sail Squadron sent along a great shot of Lacy, his son Marcus’ boat-friendly Nova Scotia duck toller at Wilson NY, cheeseburger in paradise party aboard the family’s Silverton 38X.

Brody PoochAnd Dean Gresko of the Thunder Bay Yacht Club sent in this, “ Here’s a photo of our Golden Retriever, Brody, on board our Beneteau Swift Trawler 50 at Thompson Island on Lake Superior near Thunder Bay last summer. He loves the swimming and watching the ducks quack at him. Lol”

Here are the PotW rules – the photos must be taken from or near a boat. They don’t have to be pet shots, but a dog on the boat is always a winner! They must be your shots and free from copyright. Most importantly, they must be wonderful. Send the to us via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and put Photo in the subject line.

We’ll publish yours in the next issue!!

The smooth, still surface creates a canvas reflecting the surrounding landscape, mirroring every twisted tree and carved rock in an unnerving, almost hallucinatory manner.

Welcome to another simply glorious day at Bayfield Inlet on Georgian Bay.

Exciting new model for 2018

The Four Winns H290OB combines two of the most popular new big boat trends to come up with a great new 30 footer. It's a luxurious and spacious deep-V day boat that can handle big water and big groups, and it's powered by outboards. In this case, two Mercury Verado 300s gives this boat 600 hp of silky smooth, ready to run power.

The H290 has been available for the past three seasons as a twin-engine stern drive powered boat, but the outboard version is brand-new and it's a home run for sure!
